Sewer & Water

2007 Water Quality Report

The Utility Division of the Department of Public Services is located at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Their telephone number is (734) 426-4572.

The Water Department supplies an average of 533,000 gallons of water per day to Village residents. The Sewer Department treats an average of 352,000 gallons per day.

To ensure the health and safety of the Village, the Utility Division collects water samples throughout the year and tests them for bacteria and E. Coli. All of these samples have been negative and within limits set by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. The department also collects and tests wastewater samples on a daily basis.

Recently, several large projects have been finished. They include four new municipal wells, equipment improvements at the water filtration plant, complete cleaning and painting of the water tower, and upgrades to several water and sewer mains in various sections of the Village. The Wastewater Treatment Plant has been in the process of rebuilding and the upgrading of original equipment, which should be completed soon.
